The Fresh start Effect and 3 questions to ask yourself to direct it where you want to
Directing your fresh start energy
Are you also back after summer and feel the fresh start effect, that natural boost of motivation we feel at the beginning of a new season, a new week, or even a new chapter in life. After summer, many of us sense that energy even more strongly. But have you decided where you want to direct it?
Often when we feel that energy, it ends up meaning that we add things. We decide to train more, start new projects, launch new processes with the team, or simply be better and do more. And before we know it, that drive and energy that came from such a good place leaves us with the feeling of not being enough.
What I’ve learned is that it’s usually not the big additions that make the difference. It’s the small things, the tiny steps, that actually shift the way we feel. Instead of adding, I want to focus on what I already have and already am and then make space for more of that.
So in this months newsletter you get tips on how to do exactly that! Wishing you a September filled with the feelings you choose to make space for.
3 Questions to Ask Yourself to Direct Your Fresh Start Energy
1️⃣ Which feeling do you want more of in your daily life?
When you set an intention based on a feeling rather than a fixed end goal, you open up many different paths to get there.
2️⃣ What usually gives you that feeling, and who do you become when you have more of it?
Identifying what normally brings that feeling is the first step to giving it more space. Visualizing who you become when you feel more of it becomes your “why” and your reminder when you lose track.
3️⃣ What can you say no to, or let go of, to make space for it?
Adding is often easy. Letting go is harder, but it’s also what creates the most powerful change.
